Why is it what whenever I draw in my notebook on notebook paper, my drawings are fantastic and amazing.
But when I draw in my sketchbook, my drawings look terribad.
So quick update, I've finished my linoleum print! It didn't come out as good as I had hoped, but I'm more proud of the plate than I am of the actual print. I still haven't finished my scratchboard and I've been drawing in my sketchbook more often. I've basically been doing schoolwork and doodling constantly.
It feels so good outside, goodness! Down here it is 70 degrees but in the North it's snowy. Boy, I love this weather!
Not much else to say. I'm not sure when I'll get a picture of my print, but I'll try to take one.

Anthro
Since it clearly says in my bio that I am an Anthropomorphic artist, I think I should post an example of what my art looks like.
Anthropomorphic art is better known as "furry art," but I prefer calling them Anthros. I'm not a furry, but I enjoy drawing them. I'm slowly learning how to draw humans since I really want to learn. Do you know what that means? I get to become the creeper artist who stares at people and sketches them down! It's okay, I'm an artist.
I do not own this character, it was a Secret Santa I made for someone (I have permission to post it now).
It's cropped strangely because there were size requirements for the Secret Santa and if I didn't show the other page of my book, it wouldn't fit the requirements. Is she naked? Nope, well technically not. Fur ≠ Naked.
I never did come up with a good title for this piece...

Carve Carve Carve....
Well I'm still working on my linoleum. So far, I've spent eh -wiggles hand- 11 hours working on it. That's a very long time to me. I'm still not done carving yet! I'm really starting to hate this art. I mean, come on, when you've spent a long time working on an art, you're bound to start hating it. It's ironic, I'm one of the very few people still carving my linoleum. Almost everyone else in my class is printing right now. But here's the thing, I don't talk at all in class. I do nothing but work work work while everyone else talks, and yet, I'm not finished when almost everyone else is! Oh well, all I know is that I'm ready for it to be done! I'm pretty sure I'm obligated to show you all my print when I finish it since I've been talking about it nonstop on my blog, no matter how bad it turns out. But seriously, I'm getting really sick of linoleum. I think it's fun but this is just too much ha ha.
My scratchboard is looking fine at the moment. I'm almost done putting the lines down on the face and I've started making his chest. Once the lines on the face are done, I'll do major revising to make it look more "fur like." Other than that, everything is moving swimmingly.
Oh, I almost forgot! I'm not sitting next to the gossip girls anymore which is great, I can actually work without many distractions in class!

Another print update.
So I've been working on my linoleum for the past couple weeks. Trying to keep myself from slicing my hand is pretty scary but I'm doing well so far. I'm pretty sure I'm going to name it Georgia. Linoleum printmaking is pretty scary. At least with Scratchboard you see the result of the line right away, with linoleum you have to wait until you print it. Our poor art teacher is horrified one of us may slice our face off bless her heart. We also recently moved seats in art class and I just happen to be sitting next to the loud girls who do nothing but gossip and talk about how horrible their life is. I'll see if I can move.
I've also joined WetCanvas! My username is Orcinus. I'm trying to be as proper as I can on my blog and my WetCanvas but I'm a teenager, so I may not be super proper at all times. Heh.
PS. For all the artists on Blogger: Am I the only one who loves art stores? When you first enter it, the smell of pencil shavings is the best thing in the world.

Stalk WIP
Finally got around to taking a picture. Please note this was taken with a phone. I just feel that I need to post an update to prove that I'm doing something. Don't worry, the quality for future pictures won't be like this. It will look much better.
This is currently named "Stalk" though it may be changed. So far I've spent about 5-6 hours on it and I'm using an X-ACTO knife. I look forward to completing it. Boy, has this been fun to make so far. Once again, I apologize for the awful quality as it was taken with an iPhone.

Linoleum Print Update
I have recently started a linoleum print. I'm thinking of calling it Do Your Thing, but I'm not sure. I may name it Georgia or something jazz-esque, hah. The photo reference is of a man playing a trumpet. Since I love jazz so much I knew I wanted a brass instrument in it. It's going to be very difficult but I think it will pay off! I'm trying my best not to send myself to the hospital with a sliced hand so wish me luck with this. I have no pictures to show though which is no fun. This is my very first linoleum by the way! It's pretty fun, despite the hand cramps. :P Depending on how the print comes out, I may show it when it's done.
PS. I've been working on an Ampersand ScratchBord for the past few months. It will be my very first Ampersand Bord with Masonite. I've been working with flexible Scratchboards for a while but I've been wanting to do a hard one. It's a lot of fun so far and I plan on getting many more of them. I even got permission from an artist to use her amazing wildlife photos as references for scratchboards! Big thank you to her. http://fantasticfennec.deviantart.com/ <--- This is her DeviantArt if you would like to see some of her amazing photography.
I'm also saving up to buy my own scanner since I don't own one. I really need one because taking pictures of scratchboards with a digital camera will not work out in the long run. I really hope I can save up money but since I'm so bad at it, I'll probably wind up blowing it all on art supplies and sweets. :P So at the moment all photos of my artwork will be taken with a digital camera. Hope that will clear things up in the future.
